I know we are all taught as a child not to be so selfish but when it comes to budgeting your time, you’ll realize that becoming downright selfish and setting some boundaries is of the utmost importance.
We all have been provided with the same twenty-four hours each day, that adds up to a whopping Hundred and sixty-four hours in each and every week. Even when you are able to sleep eight hours each day, you’ll still have sixteen hours per day to complete the specific activities and objectives bring about your desires and goals in your life.
How To Budget Your Time With This Effective Easy Exercise
The solution to achieving this successfully is to breakdown your day into easy to manage segments, which might involve a mixture of work, family, friends, exercise, and leisure, along with other responsibilities that life brings your way. Resulting in a balance that you’ll be able to comfortably deal with is advantageous.
An excellent way to start is to sit down on a Sunday evening and write down everything that you would like to get done during the upcoming week. Once you have your list of things you would like to accomplish, it’s now the time to write them into a scheduler like this:
As you go through penciling in the ranking process in your scheduler, don’t forget to leave a bit of breathing space for yourself. The breathing space time slots can be used for emergencies that come up, to grab something healthy to eat, maybe run a few errands, or take a brief walk, maybe even take a short drive just to clear your head, or for just about anything that would benefit you. The idea is not to be constantly thinking about work or working.
The most important thing is to designate a definite cut off time for your day. So for anyone who has a home based business this is the time for you to shut down your work computer and close your office door. Doing this at the same time everyday is really important so that it becomes a habit.
This simple exercise will work for you as long as you let it, but remember it’s not set in stone. You can always go back after going over your priorities and change your schedule if need be so that you can plan your days to best suit your immediate desires and needs. Don’t forget that time might be constant, but your real life is ever changing.
It takes a lot of discipline for an entrepreneur to create a healthy balance between work and play. Regardless of how much additional time you may wish for, you’ll still only get one hundred and sixty-four hours each week.
The idea is to make every day of the week work for you; your life and your business will depend on it.
